File Backup on Edit

An agent edit can clobber a file in a way that's awkward to recover from mid-session. A cheap pre-edit snapshot gives you an instant local rollback point.

Install

  1. 1Manual install

    Copy the hook file from the repository into ~/.claude/hooks/<name>.sh. The filename must match the hook name (e.g. file-backup-on-edit.md).

  2. 2Verify

    /agents, /commands or /hooks in Claude Code

    Restart Claude Code and list your installed components to confirm it was picked up.
